Daily Meditation

Daily meditation (in this case specific sleep meditation or transendental meditation) can be an important element for many people in the search for a natural sleep remedy.

Meditation and health have long been linked and quite rightly so as healing meditation can often prove a powerful force. But, for many people mastering the art of meditation can be difficult.

The secret is to learn how to meditate and that means learning to walk before you try to run. In other words, rather than trying to start with daily meditation, begin with some simple breathing exercises and then move on to look at specific relaxation exercises.

If you wish to learn meditation then relaxation therapy is an excellent stepping stone towards meditation and learning such things as stress relaxation techniques and the use of imagery and relaxation will prepare you for the more demanding art of daily meditation.

In looking at the many problems posed by a variety of sleep disorders, we have examined many different natural sleep remedies and, amongst the many guides which we have produced, have put together a comprehensive guide to the art of relaxation. Starting with some simple breathing exercises, the guide moves on to study imagery, or visualization, before giving you a number of practical relaxation tips. Finally, the guide looks in some detail at the art of meditation.

Despite many of the myths surrounding meditation, with many people believing that it is a very difficult art which requires specialist teaching, or that it is something that should only ever be practiced in connection with one's religion, meditation is in fact not that difficult to master and the benefits of meditation are substantial.

So, if you are looking for another weapon to help in your fight against insomnia, then daily meditation might well be the answer and this simple guide will help you to learn to meditate.

Catching the Big Fish: Meditation, Consciousness, and Creativity
by David Lynch
Amazon Price: $5.58
Customer Review: This book should really have been an article in a film magazine, its that short. I was hoping that there would be a lot of information regarding TM, but there wasn't any. As others have noted the book is really just ramblings about how great LA is, and how he gets ideas for his films, seemingly by just shooting from the hip and trial and error. ...

Science of Being and Art of Living: Transcendental Meditation
by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi
Amazon Price: $11.56
Customer Review: This is the reissue of a book I read in the 1970s that was originally published in about 1963 as "The Science of Being and the Art of Living". It was Maharishi's introduction to what he first called "transcendental deep meditation" (later the "deep" was dropped). It does have some profound insights, particularly about "being" as a real state that c...
