Internal Journey Meditation
This exercise involves connecting with yourself through an "internal journey." It will bring a sense of peace and calm, and can often lead to sleep.

- Close your eyes and breathe deeply and regularly.
- Imagine that there is a well that goes deep into your center.
- Visualize the well as being beautiful, cool and full of soothing, healing energy.
- Now begin your descent into the well. Breathe in as you descend, absorbing all the wonderful healing energy that is to be found in the well.
- Breathe out as you continue to descend, releasing all the negative thoughts and energy that the well simply absorbs and eliminates.
- Continue descending, deeper and deeper inside yourself. Notice the colors, sensations and beauty that is your internal well. Feel at peace as you continue to descend and breathe in a steady, rhythmic manner.
- Absorb the colors and sensations as you continue to descend. You are submerged in a silent, beautiful world that is your inner self.
- When you are ready, begin to ascend, continuing to breathe normally, until your attention returns to the current moment. Go slowly, do not rush yourself.
- Gently stretch until you are ready to open your eyes.
